RUCKUS Wi-Fi, ICX switching and RUCKUS One
Coordinate RUCKUS access points, ICX switches and management with RF design, multigigabit cabling, PoE and commissioning.

Portfolio and infrastructure context
RUCKUS Networks provides indoor and outdoor access points, ICX switches and cloud or controller management options including RUCKUS One. A successful deployment starts with client mix, density, roaming, applications and environmental conditions, then translates those needs into RF placement and switching capacity.
Modern APs may require multigigabit copper and higher PoE classes. The physical design should confirm cable category and certification, switch port capability, power budget and uplink capacity. Reusing older cabling without test evidence can limit the selected AP.
Management ownership, licenses, controller or cloud tenant, device adoption and target firmware are settled during staging. Post-install validation measures coverage and representative service, not just controller status.
Product families in the design
Use the platform roles below to build a complete bill of materials and avoid treating unlike components as substitutes.
Indoor and outdoor APs
Wireless access points selected for density, environment and client needs.
ICX switches
Access and aggregation switching with PoE and uplink requirements.
RUCKUS One
Cloud operations for supported wired and wireless infrastructure.
Controller platforms
Approved on-premise or virtual management for applicable installed bases.
Infrastructure decisions before release
These decisions affect pathways, racks, power, media, testing and future service.
RF requirements
Define coverage, capacity, roaming, voice and location-sensitive applications.
Multigigabit access
Verify copper performance, port speed, PoE and uplinks.
Outdoor installation
Plan enclosure rating, grounding, surge, mounting and weatherproofing.
Adoption plan
Document tenant or controller, license, firmware and template ownership.
Acceptance and closeout evidence
Turnover should show that the installed infrastructure supports the approved design and can be maintained.
- Certify AP cabling and confirm negotiated speed and PoE class.
- Validate coverage, client connectivity and roaming in representative areas.
- Confirm ICX uplinks, stack, power and management visibility.
- Deliver AP maps, serials, MACs, ports, photos and validation results.
