CommScope SYSTIMAX copper and fiber infrastructure

Plan SYSTIMAX channels, GigaREACH or FiberREACH applications and imVision administration as coordinated infrastructure systems.

Portfolio and infrastructure context

CommScope enterprise infrastructure includes SYSTIMAX copper and fiber platforms, extended-reach options and intelligent infrastructure management. Product selection begins with application, distance, endpoint power, density, pathway and lifecycle goals. Standard horizontal cabling, powered-fiber architecture and long-reach copper should not be presented as interchangeable.

GigaSPEED copper families address different category and bandwidth requirements. Fiber backbone choices include multimode and single-mode media, preterminated and field-terminated connectivity and high-density panels. Polarity, loss budget, connector type and migration speed are documented before material release.

GigaREACH XL and FiberREACH applications can serve extended-distance or powered endpoints when engineered within supported limits. imVision adds connectivity visibility but requires disciplined labels, patching and database ownership. These systems need manufacturer-current design and acceptance criteria.

Product families in the design

Use the platform roles below to build a complete bill of materials and avoid treating unlike components as substitutes.

GigaSPEED copper

SYSTIMAX copper channels selected by category and application.

SYSTIMAX fiber

Backbone and data-center optical systems with defined polarity and loss.

GigaREACH and FiberREACH

Extended-reach and powered-connectivity architectures for supported endpoints.

imVision

Infrastructure intelligence tied to accurate ports, patching and administration.

Infrastructure decisions before release

These decisions affect pathways, racks, power, media, testing and future service.

Application distance

Confirm supported reach, speed and endpoint power for every segment.

Optical architecture

Define fiber type, strands, connectors, polarity, loss budget and migration.

Pathway density

Calculate fill, bend radius, panel density and maintenance access.

Administration

Align labels, records and imVision ownership with the client standard.

Acceptance and closeout evidence

Turnover should show that the installed infrastructure supports the approved design and can be maintained.

  • Certify copper to the approved SYSTIMAX category and link definition.
  • Complete OLTS loss testing and OTDR traces where specified for fiber.
  • Verify powered endpoints under expected load and distance where applicable.
  • Reconcile ports, labels, patching, tests and as-built drawings.
